Well, here's a video of a primary 4 girl who is attempting a ski slide for the first time. Learning Ski Jumping takes courage, and this 4th grader has what it takes. The jump is not small, the launch is a good 6 feet high and it crosses a 'Cat Track' before the landing slope starts, at a good 8 feet horizontal, and that's only to the start of the landing ramp: her first K40 jump.

Sometime, you should face your fears. That way, you can easily overcome them. This girl probably did ski jumps tens of times after her first time- and each time having fun and getting better at it.
